Franco Toni is the new sporting director of Zebre Parma

A club that consolidates the foundations of its identity and strengthens the foundations of its growth. The technical and corporate project at Zebre Parma takes a significant further step forward with the appointment of Franco Toni as Sports Director of the Federal Franchise.

A strategic decision, taken in agreement with the Italian Rugby Federation, as a programmatic point for the new corporate governance launched last April with the appointment of the club’s new sole director, Michel Dalay.

Sporting director Franco Toni, who joined the Italian team’s executive staff in April 2021 as manager and member of the board of directors, is formally responsible for the team’s sporting management. In addition to participating in strategic planning and alignment meetings with the high level of FII, Tony has already begun to carry out the human resources recruitment mission with the aim of strengthening and strengthening the team and technical staff of the new Zebre Parma project. .

Zebri Parma sporting director comments Franco Tony: “When I got to Zebre, I found a lopsided team, with an average age of 29 and a standard that the same tournament deemed inappropriate. We made choices, some painful, all necessary, and I believe they will help us gain credibility and interest.
My goal is to create a club in Parma that is strongly linked to the federal context with a strong identity that is useful to increase the desire to compete on and off the field. I have found a potential and favorable working environment that I share every day with professionals who are satisfied with the specific course. The squad presents itself for the 2022/23 season with an average age of 24 and a captivating future as well as the technical and medical sector, both of which are rich these days with newcomers.
FIR and President Marzio Innocenti have given us a lot of confidence and we will always be grateful to them for that. We want to return the trust of the union, investors and the public in the next three years with a constantly operating program and research at the center.”

Statements of the sole director of Zebre Parma Michelle Dalay: The presence of Franco for me is a guarantee of competence and experience in managing the sports group. From the very first moment, we shared a vision, a vision of reversing the course of events and halting the deterioration that seemed unstoppable. To do this takes time and confidence but above all requires a project. I’m glad this new post finally brings together form and substance. Franco is the sportsman of the zebra and this is a great starting point and a tremendous strength.”
